This is a project conceptualisation for the Bristol-based fem-punk band Moxie Dolls. The all-women group creates music rooted in the spirit of punk, loud, unapologetic, and often focused on the real issues that women face today.

With that in mind, I wanted to design something that speaks to these pressures in a way that feels both subversive and visually engaging. I began by collaging different visual materials, including an image of a hanging man and four women, sourced from a vintage book on Western films. I chose this direction because the hanging man is immediately striking and confrontational, while the women, representing the four band members, are styled in a stereotypically 'prim and proper' fashion. This contrast acts as a satirical commentary on the beauty standards imposed on women both historically and today.
